Names

Names are words, titles or phrases given by intelligent beings with True Life.

A Name allows many people to recognise the same person, object, place, event or idea. Each time a Name is spoken, remembered, known or thought about, the thing it identifies attracts more Zohm.

Widely recognised Names attract more Zohm than forgotten or little-known Names. If enough Zohm gathers within something, it may develop unpredictable powers.

Fell Names

Fell Names are evil Names shaped by cruelty, corruption and other dark acts. Across generations, civilisations abused the power of Naming granted by Oru, using Fell Names to conquer and control others.

To weaken these Names, the planet released enormous amounts of Zohm, causing the Great Pulses. When the flow later receded, it damaged memory and recognition throughout the world. Entire generations of knowledge were lost. This event became known as the Memory Plague.
