Gharob Region

Categories:

The Gharob Region is the primary region explored throughout this project.

The Gharob Region takes its name from Ghar, a mythical giant said to sleep beneath the land. Many people believe Ghar is real and will one day awaken. The region’s borders are traditionally drawn around the supposed size of his buried body, much like the neighbouring regions of Solis and Jyrab, which are named for their own sleeping giants.

Gharob is far from uniform. Its landscapes range from vast salt flats and prismatic mesas to enormous mountain ranges, with each area shaped by its own climate.

Together, these varied lands form one of the most distinctive parts of the Golden Wastes.
